| I just got back from my European vacation. I backpacked through Europe all by myself! It has always been my dreams to visit Salzburg, Austria so needless to say that was the focal point of my trip! Amsterdam, Holland I visited the Anne Frank house where they lived in hiding for 2 1/2 years. I can't begin to express the feelings that you feel when you walk through the "secret" entrance. Then I took a boat ride through the canal. I was able to see most of the city and toped my visit off with a train ride through some the Holland's country side. I was amazed by how many people use bikes instead of cars. I found that to be very inspiring...who knows maybe I will have to save for a bike!

Entrance to Anne Frank House Germany and Bavaria I spent some time in a few German villages. I did splurge and get a handmade Coo coo clock from Bavaria.
Salzburg, Austria I spent a bulk of my time here. This was a dream come true. I walked around this city many days in awe. This has always been the one place I have always dreamed of visiting. I toured the birth place of Mozart, took a hike through some of the Alps and of course visited all the sites from the Sound of Music! One of the highlights was taking a train to a nearby town called Oberndorff and visiting the site where the song Silent Night was written.

Bike Rack in Amsterdam Switzerland: I just walked around and visited a few villages. It is a very beautiful country. France: I spent a week in Tours. Went to a Chateau from the 900s and had dinner. I have been to France (Normady) before but never to Paris. I only had one evening in Paris but managed to see many sites! |

| I have recently found out that on Mother's Day we are having a talent show at the corps. I have been pondering about what my talent is. I am not very musical. I can sing but do not do solo's. I play a little cornet, piano and clarinet but again do not feel comfortable in a solo performance. I have decided that I should take a table and scrapbook. LOL After much thought I am going to do a monologue - it is more in my comfort zone. Also I will perform in a timbrel drill ... let's hope I can remember the symbols. So if you had to go to a talent show - what would be your talent? |

| This weekend at our retreat I had the privilege of helping to surprise a friend D with a baby shower. I am not sure how we managed to surprise her - the hotel had it posted everywhere including on their TV station. I guess they didn't get the memo! Thanks to her husband and other peeps blocking her from seeing the many signs posted we managed to keep it a surprise for 24 hours! Her expression was priceless. I hope her utlrasound was correct. If Mallory turns out to be a Lucas he will have lots of pink!!!!!! |

| This past Sunday was one of those days....you muddle through, are glad its over and hope to never repeat it again. Let me explain. It all started with my uniform skirt actually my lack of a uniform skirt. I grabbed my skirt out of the suitcase to put it on and realized that instead of grabbing the dry cleaning that contained my uniform skirt it seemed I grabbed the one that had my wash and wear (class room) skirt. Well I was four hours from home so there was no time to run home to get the correct one. I put one my classroom skirt put my tunic on, yes I looked like orphan annie. The blues hmmmmm just didn't even come close to matching. My game plan was to sneak in the back and blend in. I wasn't preaching so I figured it should be easy. Wrong! I get to the Corps that I was visiting and their guest speaker isn't there. I will save you the suspense, yes I ended up preaching, leading, facilitating the entire meeting. It was by God's grace I made it through as there was not piano, I didn't have a sermon with me and all I could find was one CD in the entire building. I thank God for giving me the ability to "wing" it or as we learned in school drive the red sports car. I have decided I am more of a volvo driver, I like the stability. I admire my friends who drive the sports car but at this time in my life I have not arrived at that point. I thank God for working through me as one of my favorite song's state, God will make a way! |
